Akbar Khan is an advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan, with extensive experience in corporate, regulatory and contentious legal matters. He has practiced law in Islamabad as well as in Peshawar.

He has worked in leading law firms specializing in corporate and contentious matters, as well as an in-house attorney at leading companies in Pakistan. His experience in legal practice includes advising a diverse clientele spanning private and public sectors, including in corporate, transactional, litigation, and regulatory matters, offering strategic guidance and conducting thorough legal research. He has advised on the development of power projects as well.

He led the legal department of a large steel manufacturing company , representing it before various regulatory bodies, courts, tribunals and handled a wide range of legal matters for the company. He managed litigation cases, advised management on legal issues, drafted and negotiated contracts, and ensured compliance with laws and regulations.

In addition, he has also led the regional law department for a leading state-owned enterprise in the oil and gas sector. In this role, he oversaw a broad spectrum of legal functions.
